Birthday Cake Smoothie

In honour of Gavin’s recent induction into 7-year-old-hood, I’m sticking with the birthday theme temporarily and showing you today this yummy and FUN recipe I found for Birthday Cake Smoothie! It’s super easy to make, healthy enough to have as birthday morning breakfast, and really yummy for that special birthday person.

Birthday (4)

I had a few tweaks to the original recipe. Mainly being that the original recipe called for vanilla flavoured almond milk and plain yogurt, and all I had was plain flavoured almond milk and vanilla yogurt. I figured it had to balance out in the blender, and it was very delicious, so it must have!

Ingredients:

  • 2 large frozen bananas
  • 1 cup almond milk (or I would do regular milk with 1/4 tsp almond extract if almond milk isn’t your thing)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • sprinkles (optional)

Throw everything (except the sprinkles) into the blender and blend until smooth. Top with sprinkles if you’d like, and you’re done!

Both the kids loved it! I hope you do too! Enjoy!
